Art•lantis
The perfect solution for fast and photo-realistic presentations

Equipped with an exceptionally simple and intuitive interface and powered by the most advanced technologies, Art•lantis is the rendering solution of choice for thousands of ArchiCAD users worldwide. Its user-friendliness and efficiency, together with a solid technological performance, ensures the astounding quality of its rendered images. And with its brand-new rendering engine, Art•lantis reaches an unprecedented level of speed.

Art•lantis allows users to interactively select finishes, apply them to any object in three-dimensional space, and quickly create high-definition renderings, virtual reality scenes and animated scenes. It imports ArchiCAD files as well as most common CAD formats including DXF, DWG, QuickDraw 3D, 3D Studio, ElectricImage, VRML and RIB.

This major upgrade, which adds powerful new functionality and optimizes all existing Art•lantis features, promises to bring about a second revolution in the use of 3D in design. Art•lantis is seamlessly integrated into the ArchiCAD workflow, providing the optimal solution for professional rendering tasks.

Art•lantis is available for both the Windows and Macintosh operating systems.

New features of Art•lantis
• Global Illumination
With a completely unique lighting model that integrates the multiple effects of light bounced by the surrounding objects, each element of the 3D scene affects the shader colors and brightness. The result: breathtaking realism.
• Soft Shadows
With Art•lantis, it is possible to soften the general atmosphere of 3D scenes or animations. Complete control over shadow blur is enabled by a simple manipulation of the cursor. This new function is simple, easy to use and has stunning efficiency.
• Depth of Field
Just as a photographer focuses on a selected target, the Art•lantis user can manipulate a scene's depth of field. Whether the focus is on an object, a direction or infinity, it is possible for each camera to adjust the intensity of blur for the rest of the scene. In addition to the VR panorama, which was perfected in version 3.0, VR objects can also be presented, making the most of QuickTimeTM technology.
• QuickTime VR Object
Simply create and adjust a "visualization sphere" (global or partial), and Art•lantis will calculate a VR object file in record time. The selected object can then be visualized in the pre-defined viewing angle, and even distributed via the Internet.
• Up to 7 Times Faster
Employing Meta CS' MartTM technology, the new Art•lantis rendering engine achieves a calculation speed up to seven times higher than the one used in Art•lantis 3.5 (on an equivalent computer). The complexity and sophistication of a file pose no limitations for Art•lantis.
• Reliable Memory
The dynamic management of virtual memory in the new version has been considerably improved on both Mac and Windows. Memory problems, swaps on the hard drive and the constraints of manually re-setting memory allocation are history!
• The Adjustable Cursor
Art•lantis offers an adjustable cursor that enables the user to manipulate the intensity of light as accurately as desired, regardless of the degree of fine-tuning necessary.
• Textures Preview
To ease the selection process, Art•lantis allows you to preview textures before they are applied.
• Autonomous Heliodon
Complementing the tools for controlling conventional light sources, and improving both simplicity and clarity, Art•lantis new interface makes it possible to manage "Heliodon" lighting (the calculation of shadows and sun-lighting studies) autonomously.
• Reliable Reference
A new command called "open with reference" ensures that communication and navigation between different programs (CAD and Art•lantis) are always reliable, simple, complete and free of data-loss risk. There is also a considerable savings in time and improvement in security.
• Optimized Previewing
An enlarged preview window (640x480 pixels) offers the advantages of higher precision, and flexible 3D scene and animation editing.
• Materials Galore
The "import material" command enables you to retrieve and re-use materials, including materials and combinations of materials from all previous Art•lantis files.
